
Getting Your Heat Right in Tight Bending Furnaces
Let’s be honest: non-standard bending furnaces are usually a geometric nightmare. When you’re working with a cramped footprint, those standard, off-the-shelf infrared lamps just don’t cut it. They either leave annoying dead zones where the heat doesn’t reach, or they simply won’t fit inside the chassis without a fight. We deal with this by ditching the “one size fits all” approach. Instead, we make custom-bent radiators in the exact lengths you need, so they actually follow the curves of your furnace.
Making it Fit
Here’s the problem with straight tubes: they create gaps in curved sections. That means some parts of your workpiece get blasted with heat while others stay cold. Not ideal. By tweaking the length and the bend radius, we keep the heat source at a steady distance from the part. No more localized overheating. No more cold spots. Just a smooth, even temperature across the whole bend.
Speed and Power
We use short-wave infrared tech because it’s fast. Really fast. Unlike convection heaters that take their time, these lamps hit your target temperature in seconds. That lets you tighten up your cycle times and get more done. We can also dial in the wattage and voltage to match whatever power rails you’ve already got. If you need a ton of heat in a tiny space, we can crank up the wattage. Just a heads-up, though: more power means more heat soak. Make sure your mounting brackets can handle the heat, or you’ll be replacing them way sooner than you’d like.
