It runs on a 400V halogen infrared lamp, and the heart of it is a 300mm quartz tube that cranks out 2500W. Perfect for those tight spots where you need serious heat, fast, but you don’t want to tear your workstation apart to get it.
The Nitty-Gritty
Here’s the thing about running it at 400V—it lets us pack 2500W into a short 300mm tube. That means you get a lot of heat in a very small footprint. And it’s not just about power; it’s smart power. That voltage is a natural fit for industrial setups, because it keeps the current lower for the same output. Less strain on the wiring. Less stress on the connections. The 300mm length hits a sweet spot. It’s short enough to slide under desks and consoles, but long enough to cover a real, usable heating zone.
What It’s Made Of
The halogen element sits inside a quartz tube, which lets it run hot and bright without giving up on you too soon. The tube uses an internal halogen cycle to keep the filament stable over time, and quartz handles the thermal shock without cracking. Then there’s the R7s connector. It’s simple, it’s proven, and it’s the standard for double-ended tubes. That means the lamp is a straightforward, drop-in replacement once you wire it up. No fuss.
Where It Shines
This setup was born for under-desk heaters, where space is tight and you need heat on demand. The response is quick, and the infrared output is focused where you want it. But there’s a trade-off: it concentrates heat in a serious way. So give yourself some mounting clearance, and plan for cooling. If you don’t, the nearby enclosure can get pretty toasty.
