Here’s the core idea: we wanted a standing patio heater that throws off a ton of heat, but doesn’t take up a ton of space. So, we built it around a halogen heating tube. It’s 300mm long and runs at 2500W. That’s a lot of power packed into a small package. To handle that, we run it on 400V. That choice isn’t random. It keeps the electrical load manageable, so the heater can blast out serious warmth without tripping the circuit. And that 300mm length? It’s a sweet spot. Long enough to spread the heat evenly, but still short enough to keep the whole unit sleek and steady on its feet.
The guts of it: the tube, the glow, and the swap.
Inside that tube, you’ve got a quartz tube filled with halogen gas. It lets the filament burn hotter and brighter than a standard element, which means more of that toasty infrared heat. Now, the tube itself has a clever trick. It’s coated to filter out the harsh glare. So what you feel is pure, comforting warmth—no blinding light. And when it’s time to replace the tube, it couldn’t be simpler. We use an R7s connector, a standard double-ended pin. Just slide it into the ceramic sockets. Done.

On the job, this setup is all about speed and reliability. The heater comes alive fast, turning a chilly outdoor spot into a cozy one almost instantly. And when a tube finally gives up the ghost, you’re back in action in minutes. No long waits, no downtime. But here’s the thing—that power comes with heat. Pushing 2500W into a small space creates a lot of ambient warmth. So, the surrounding parts and the installation spot need to be ready for it. We design our units to handle it, but you’ve got to make sure the area has enough ventilation and clearance. This isn’t a gentle, background heater. It’s a direct-heat tool, meant to get the job done.
